"Fearful Symmetry" is the eighteenth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series The X-Files. It premiered on the Fox network on February 24, 1995. It was written by Steve De Jarnatt and directed by James Whitmore Jr. The episode is a "Monster-of-the-Week" story, only loosely connected to the series' wider mythology. "Fearful Symmetry" received a Nielsen rating of 10.1 and was watched by 9.6 million households. The episode received mixed reviews from critics but later won an EMA Award.

"Fearful Symmetry" was first broadcast in the United States on February 24, 1995, on the Fox network.[3] In its original broadcast, it was watched by 9.6 million households, according to the Nielsen ratings system.[7] It received a 10.1 rating/17 share among viewers meaning that 10.1 percent of all households in the United States, and 17 percent of all people watching television at the time, viewed the episode.[7] The episode later won an EMA Award for its environmental message.[8]

In which I watch tv shows and write posts about whether or not each episode passes the Bechdel, along with other observations on the quality (or lack thereof) of their female representation (as well as anything else that feels important to me, and hey, a little about the quality of the episodes themselves, because I'm just a big damn fan of tv). We all know the Bechdel is not (and was never intended to be) the be-all-and-end-all for judging the feminist content of a text, it's supposed to represent a bare-minimum hurdle that all-too-many things still completely fail to step over. Within the context of this blog, it remains a bare minimum - even if the episode gives me nothing else worth talking about, I can at least note whether or not it passes the B. Since you could theoretically pass the Bechdel eight times over and still be churning out the most misogynistic content ever encountered, this blog will also endeavour to evaluate that content when and where possible, offering a positive content rating out of five (five being excellent, one being atrocious, and three being the baseline standard from which so few episodes dare to deviate), and details of these observations and others under the spoiler-cut.

We shift to Earth-2 and see that young Hunter was forced to watch his father kill his mother. After this his dad goes to prison and Hunter gets sent to an orphanage. A very similar origin to Barry but with a twist! Not a good childhood for Hunter. More of what happened next later!

After a 13 year hiatus, The X-Files will be back on January 24th, 2016. As of July 7th, 2015, there are exactly 201 days until the first new episode premiers, which just so happens to be the exact number of episodes of this iconic sci-fi series. In light of this, FOX has challenged all X-Files fanatics to start watching one episode a day leading up to the premiere of the 10th season. What? You mean someone is telling me to watch an X-Files episode every day, all leading up to a new episode of one of the best tv shows of all time?! Sign me up.

I began watching Season 1 this of The X-Files this October, notknowing much about the show other than what the title suggests. In thepilot episode, I got a better feel of what the premise would be: AgentFox Mulder (probably the coolest name ever, next to Wolfgang Puck) isan FBI special agent who has been assigned a special set ofunexplained or mysterious cases called the X-Files. Agent Dana Scullyis assigned to work with him on these cases, but is a woman ofscience, and completely opposes belief in the supernatural. Thispremise alone struck interest in me.

A suggestion to any other new, first-time watchers, DO NOT base youropinions on the Pilot; or the first several episodes for that matter.Here are some episodes that really stood out to me (for better orworse):
